Charming Elopement at Makena Cove, Maui | M + F

On a relaxing Labor Day weekend, I had the pleasure of meeting Maria and Favio and photographing their elopement. Maria and Favio live in Florida, and they were so stoked to travel to Maui to elope! I had a great time connecting with this sweet couple and chatting about surfing (Favio and I are both surfers!), as well as hikes to check out on Maui. Favio works in the finance field, and Maria recently left her job as a teacher to pursue a family business with Favio,

You won’t be able to tell from the photos, but Makena Cove was quite crowded during this Labor Day weekend! During the ceremony, a large group of children came running through the ceremony site and began jumping off the lava rocks, but Maria and Favio weren’t a bit upset or flustered. After the ceremony, we took a few photos at Makena Cove and then left for a portrait session at a larger nearby beach.

As you can see from the photos, this ceremony was downright fun!!! Reverend Kuya often incorporates a lot of laughter, kissing, and in this case, dancing into his ceremonies. I had a blast!

Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations), Maria and Favio! It was a pleasure to be your Maui elopement photographer! I hope that you enjoyed the surfing, and your trip to Hana. Aloha!
