Intimate Wedding at Secret Beach, Maui | S + R
Stephanie and Randall planned their Maui intimate wedding from their home in California. They had eight family members in attendance for their lovely ceremony. During their ceremony, the first large south swell of the season was occurring, which meant that there wasn’t as much white sand beach available at Makena Cove (Secret Beach). Although Makena Cove is a stunning location, and it’s easy to understand it’s popularity for elopements on Maui, when swells come from the south during the summer months, the larger waves can take the beach right out. A large wave came up on shore during the ceremony, soaking some of the wedding party (and me!). For the bridal portraits, we weren’t able to explore the lava rocks for safety reasons, so I took the couple to a nearby “secret” spot, and it ended up working out perfectly.
Stephanie’s haku lei and tropical bouquet were stunning details that I won’t be forgetting anytime soon, as well as the couple’s obvious love for each other. Stephanie and Randall were a sweet, fun couple to work with, and I was honored to be their Maui elopement photographer! I thoroughly enjoyed meeting them and some of their close family members. Ho'omaika'i 'ana (Congratulations), Stephanie and Randall!
